RN to BSN Program

The RN to BSN is for current CA licensed Registered Nurses wishing to obtain a BSN. This is a hybrid program which offers some courses online and is currently impacted.

To find out the pre-requisites and how to apply to this program, you must first meet with an advisor, by appointment only. In order to be admitted to this program, you must have completed all of the CSUSB Nursing pre-requisites, plus meet the CSUSB Nursing Program Admission Criteria. Current CA licensed Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to those who live or work in the Coachella Valley.

The Nursing Program incorporates various methods of instruction to meet the needs of working Registered Nurses who have a variety of learning styles, work schedules, and personal commitments. As a hybrid program, most of the Nursing courses are offered online. General education courses required for graduation and completion of the BSN may not be available online every quarter. Methods of instruction for Nursing courses will include:

• Two-to-three face-to-face meetings per course at the Palm Desert Campus
• All course materials will be available online via the Internet, using Blackboard course management software (this program is available to all CSUSB registered and enrolled students)
• Interactive adult learning theory is incorporated into the hybrid online environment
• Clinical experiences will occur through the use of experienced preceptors in your community
• Clinical hours are required in the following Nursing courses: NURS 411, 405 and 407
