Cross Enrollment at CSUSB Palm Desert Campus

Cross enrollment allows for students from College of the Desert, Copper Mountain College, Palo Verde, and Mt. San Jacinto College to take classes at the Palm Desert Campus for $10 on a space available basis provided they are currently enrolled in at least 6 units of coursework at their home community college. Eligibility

COD/CMC students are eligible to take one class at CSUSB-PDC as a Cross-Enrollment student if they meet these requirements:

• completed at least one term at COD/CMC
• enrolled in at least 6 units
• a GPA of 2.00 for work completed
• paid tuition and fees at COD/CMC
• has met prerequisites required as determined by PDC
• California resident

Cost

The charge is a $10 administrative fee (and, of course, books and lab fees). We honor COD/CMC parking permit.

What to take

Enrollment is on the first day of class and based on seat availability. I usually recommend Cross-Enrollment students take one of our capstones. These classes have lots of openings (classes for majors are small and fill quickly). The nice thing about taking capstones now is that when students do transfer they will have already met some of our requirements! Plus it is a good introduction to our quarter system.

Application

1. The Cross Enrollment from the Community Colleges is available at: (1) COD/CMC Transfer Center, (2) Administration Office at PDC, and (3) CSUSB RRE forms online.
The student completes the top part.COD/CMC completes the middle portion. Then show up to the class on the first day and have the instructor sign the bottom of the form. This form is required each quarter.

2. First time Cross Enrollment students must also complete the Non-Degree Seeking/Transitory available at (1) COD/CMC Transfer Center; (2) Administration Office at PDC; and (3) CSUSB admissions forms. This form is only required once.

Submit completed forms, pay fee, and register COD/CMC parking permit at the PDC Admin Office (RG-203) the first week of classes. Forms will not be accepted earlier than the first week of classes.

Registration

Students will be enrolled after the third week of class. Until they are enrolled, students must keep their copy of the Cross Enrollment form as verification of authorized attendance.

Dual Admissions with Community Colleges

The Dual Admissions Program at CSUSB Palm Desert Campus is an agreement between College of the Desert, Copper Mountain College and Mt. San Jacinto College that guarantees admission to the institution for students attending these colleges provided that they complete the transfer admission requirements.
